The Brothers of the Beloved Disciple are a private association of the faithful comprising brothers and priests who live and pray together, serving the spiritual and material needs of people in San Antonio, TX.

We wish to bring the extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit into the ordinary life of the Church by promoting the full role of the Holy Spirit, including the charisms, and the role of Mary in achieving this mission. To do this we work at building strong, evangelizing, faith sharing communities through the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and faith formation. Though presently in a parish we are not limited to that form of ministry. We work especially with youth and young adults. We seek for unity in the Body of Christ, reaching out to unchurched Catholics and also to those of other faiths or of no faith at all.

As the Beloved Disciple received the gift of Mary as his Mother and the Holy Spirit as the Paraclete, the Brothers of the Beloved Disciple wish to share this double gift with the Church, building strong and evangelizing communities, drawing others into the full life of the Holy Spirit. We seek to learn and to show how the Holy Spirit can enliven and transform every structure of the Church. For this reason we began with an inner-city, bi-lingual parish, St. Mary Magdalen of San Antonio, where Mary models the Church as family and the Holy Spirit has inspired multiple ministries and begun to transform lives. We have also recently taken on two more parishes in San Antonio, St. Phillip of Jesus and St. Henry.
